Greta Van Fleet has secured yet another massive endorsement from a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
First Robert Plant offered his compliments to the band in an interview.
Now, not only did Sir Elton John invite the Michigan-based hard rock revival band to perform at his annual Oscars party for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the iconic singer also heaped praise on Greta Van Fleet and joined the band onstage for a collaboration.
"They've been together for about seven years and they're amazing," John said before introducing the band. "They blew me away. So you're gonna see them here and they're going to be one of the biggest new bands of the year. They have an amazing future ahead of them. I'm so thrilled—I'm so thankful for them to come onstage and play for you."
Greta Van Fleet played a few of its own songs and then John joined them for "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."
John personally called GVF weeks ago to invite the band to perform at his party, telling them that their double EPs released last spring contained some of the best rock music he's heard in decades.

Former Led Zeppelin frontman Plant recently gave Greta Van Fleet his seal of approval.
Plant confirmed in an interview that he's familiar with the band of youngsters all between ages 19 and 21. He even called singer Josh Kiszka's voice "pretty good," adding "There's a job out there for him."
Greta Van Fleet's sudden rise from Frankenmuth, Michigan, to the Heatseekers Charts, has as much to do with the band's work ethic as it does GVF's Zeppelin-inspired sound.
"We'd been in and out of [the studio] for two straight years, not really releasing anything," Josh recalled of the band's learning curve in a December interview with Q104.3 New York's "Out of the Box" with Jonathan Clarke.
"When we set foot in [Rust Belt Studios], we didn't know anything about how to make an actual recording," Sam adds. "We knew what it entailed, but in those two or three years we really learned a lot...about how to record songs."
