Here's What is Happening on the 'American Top 40' Chart This Week

This past weekend on American Top 40, Juice WRLD’s sleeper hit "Lucid Dreams" was put to bed. This was the 20-year-old rapper’s first AT40 hit and it spent 30 weeks on the chart, making it into the Top 10 back in October.

Madison Beer’s break-up song "Hurts Like Hell" featuring Offset also had to call it quits this week. The track was her second AT40 hit and is the lead single form her upcoming album.

And "Swan Song," Dua Dipa’s contribution to the Alita: Battle Angel soundtrack took its swan dive off the chart.

Mabel is new to the chart this week with "Don’t Call Me Up." She’s the daughter of Neneh Cherry, best known for "Buffalo Stance," which reached #4 in 1989. This marks the first time in AT40 history that a mother and her daughter have scored solo Top 40 hits.

Marshmello's latest "Here With Me," his catchy collab with Chvrches has also hit the chart. The indie pop band is one of a number of UK acts that the EDM producer and DJ has worked with including Anne-Marie ("Friends"), James Arthur ("You Can Cry") and Bastille ("Happier").

And Ally Brooke debuts with "Low Key" featuring Tyga. For the first time in AT40 history, three solo women from one group (Fifth Harmony) have three hits charting at once. There’s also Normani ("Love Lies" and "Dancing With A Stranger") and Camila Cabello ("Beautiful").

benny blanco, Halsey and Khalid are spending a second week at #3 with their collab "Eastside." This is their seventh week being in the Top 3.

Halsey is still hanging in second place with "Without Me." The track reached the top of the chart back in February and stayed there for four weeks. This was her first number-one single as a lead artist.

And Ariana Grande is spending a second week at #1. Last week she hit the top spot for the seventh time with "7 rings," tying with Rihanna at third place for solo women for the most #1s this decade. Katy Perry is in first (9), followed by Taylor Swift (8).

How long will "7 rings" stay at #1? Find out in the weeks to come!
