Demi Lovato is happy for Selena Gomez as she prepares to marry Benny Blanco.
During her Tuesday (September 16) appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer shared sweet sentiments about Gomez's life following comments the Rare Beauty founder previously made on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast praising her fellow Disney Channel alums' careers, per E! News. At the time, Gomez noted how "good" it was seeing stars like Lovato, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers "[doing] their thing."
"I heard clips of what she said on the podcast, and it was really, really sweet," Lovato said. "And I couldn't be happier for her — she's engaged, and yeah I just wish her the best."
Lovato and Gomez's friendship dates back to when they were both young children, starring on Barney and Friends when they were 7 years old. They both went on to appear on Disney Channel shows Sonny With a Chance and Wizards of Waverly Place, respectively, and even shared the screen in the 2009 movie Princess Protection Program. While they may not appear as close as they have been in the past, they have continued to show support for each other's work over the years.
On WWHL, the "Confident" musician also shared her thoughts on Gomez and Blanco's collaborative album I Said I Love Your First, praising the record and revealing her favorite track from the album.
"I have listened to the album, really, really great job," she said. "I love the songs on it, 'Bluest Flame' was my song."
Lovato recently had her own happily ever after with her magical wedding to husband Jordan "Jutes" Lutes in May, with a source noting that she has "never been happier" since marrying the artist.
