Ariana Grande isn't going anywhere.

In a new interview with the New York Times published Wednesday (November 5), the "We Can't Be Friends" singer reassured fans that while she has been focused on acting projects over the past few years, she will not be walking away from her music career. In addition to starring in her "dream role" in Wicked, Grande has also landed roles in upcoming projects like American Horror Story and Focker-In-Law.

"Of course, music will be in my life forever," she said. "I have to say that for my fans who are reading this who are going to have a heart attack."

During an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast last year, Grande admitted that she saw herself "shifting" from pop music to musical theater for the next few years and acknowledged that the news was "going to scare the absolute s--- out of my fans and everyone." Even then, she emphasized that she still planned to music and was "always going to do pop stuff" because art "is what feeds me — in whatever capacity it is."

Grande is doubling down on her dedication to music by hitting the road next year for her first tour since 2019, traveling around North America and London starting in June 2026 for her Eternal Sunshine Tour in support of her 2024 album of the same name.
