Ed Sheeran Gives Update On Potential Third 'Collaborations' Album

Ed Sheeran says he won't be dropping another collaborative project any time soon.

On Friday night, December 12, the British pop star performed at the 2025 iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball Presented By Capital One at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Before he closed out the show, Sheeran stopped to talk to the Elvis Duran Morning Show in the Mercedes-Benz interview lounge. Midway through their conversation, Danielle asked Ed if he ever plans to drop a follow-up to his beloved No.6 Collaborations Project. The "Bad Habits" singer didn't seem too excited about the idea.

"Uh, nah," Sheeran bluntly replied. "It was such a logistical nightmare and you're dealing with teams and egos and I just hated that process. It's just some of them are great, and then their teams weren't. Some of their teams were great, and they weren't. It was just — never again."

Ed Sheeran released his first EP, No.5 Collaborations Project, in 2011. Sheeran created a fresh installment and dropped it as his fourth studio album in 2019. No.6 Collaborations Project holds 15 tracks full of joint efforts with Eminem, 50 Cent, H.E.R., Chance The Rapper, Young Thug, J Hus, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Khalid, Stormzy, Bruno Mars and more.

The 34-year-old crooner opted to keep the collaborations to a bare minimum for his new album Play. Ed Sheeran's eighth studio album holds 13 tracks, while the recent Deluxe version contains 27 songs. The only collaboration on the deluxe version is with Indian artist Arijit Singh, who appears on "Sapphire." Sheeran performed some of his new songs during his closing set at Jingle Ball.
