Good Charlotte ignited the stage at iHeartRadio ALTer EGO presented by Capital One on Saturday night (January 17) at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. The show marked the band’s first Los Angeles performance in 10 years.
The L.A.-based rockers, hailing from Waldorf, Maryland, noted “it’s been for a very long time. It’s good to play a hometown show,” lead vocalist Joel Madden said. Good Charlotte transported the California crowd back to the early 2000s with a nostalgic set that included some of the band’s most iconic hits. The band kicked off their highly-anticipated L.A. performance with “The Anthem” and “Girls & Boys,” plus “Rejects,” “The River” and “I Don't Wanna Be In Love (Dance Floor Anthem).” Joel got the entire arena audience on their feet, jumping in unison when Good Charlotte played “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous” for their epic finale.
“I just feel excited. I feel grateful,” Benji Madden said when he and Joel spoke with iHeartRadio's Booker and Stryker before taking the stage. “L.A.’s home, so it’s really nice. You always have a little bit of nerves, but they hit right before. Right now, I’m just feeling gratitude.” Watch the full interview here.
“The only thing we care about in this band is our songs and the people that listen to our songs… Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts,” Joel said on stage. “We love you, Los Angeles. Thank you.”
Other artists in the 2026 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO lineup included Cage The Elephant, Almost Monday, Mt. Joy, Gigi Perez, Sublime, Twenty One Pilots and Green Day. Catch some of their performance highlights below.
