Backstage at iHeartRadio's ALTer EGO presented by Capital One, Adrian Young and Tony Kanal of No Doubt hung out with iHeartRadio's Booker and Stryker to talk about the band’s highly anticipated return to live shows, namely their iconic residency at Las Vegas' The Sphere.

With a mix of nostalgia and excitement, Young shared what it’s like to re-acclimate to the stage after years away and how being back in the spotlight intersects with life as a parent. "We've been in my basement rehearsing — just me, Tony, and Tom — re-acclimating to a lot of the old songs from our 20s," Young said. “Then we’ll get together with the whole band this coming week, and it just starts to build from there.” While the visuals for the upcoming shows are still in development, he noted that seeing early renderings has been “super exciting,” giving the band a fresh perspective on their stage presence and performance.

Young also reflected on the surreal experience of seeing No Doubt’s imagery on the Sphere in Las Vegas. “I saw the Wizard of Oz with my girls about a week ago and we were walking down Sands Avenue ... and there it is. It reminded me, ‘Oh yeah, you’re in this band,’” he shared.

Family plays a big role in Young’s current experience with the band. His children, who were too young to remember the last time No Doubt played live, have now discovered their parents’ iconic music. “Coachella helped that a lot because it had been nine years since we had played. It reminded them—it’s us, right? Let’s do this,” Young said with a laugh. He even revealed some of his kids’ favorite No Doubt tracks: Magnolia loves “It’s Too Late,” Saffron gravitates toward Tragic Kingdom, and Coco enjoys “Sunday Morning.”

As No Doubt gears up for another chapter of performances, Young expressed a sense of gratitude and joy. “It’s good to get back in the ether,” he said. “Let’s go, baby.”

With rehearsals underway, visuals taking shape, and a family-inspired energy behind them, No Doubt is poised to bring both longtime fans and a new generation into their unmistakable world of music, fun, and nostalgia.
