Macaulay Culkin Shares Heartbreaking Tribute To 'Mama' Catherine O'Hara

Macaulay Culkin is mourning the loss of his on-screen "mama" Catherine O'Hara.

On Friday (January 30), Culkin penned a heartbreaking tribute to the late actress on Instagram, hours after news broke that O'Hara had passed away at the age of 71. The pair starred together as mother and son in the beloved 1990 holiday film Home Alone as well as its 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and they maintained a close bond that lasted decades.

In his post, which he addressed to "mama," Culkin shared side-by-side photos from their time in Home Alone and more than three decades later at his Walk of Fame Star ceremony in December 2023.

"Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more," he said.

He continued, "I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say. I love you. I'll see you later."

TMZ reported on Friday that O'Hara had passed away, and her manager later confirmed the news to People; however, as of Friday, her cause of death has not been revealed.

In addition to Home Alone, O'Hara was also known for her roles in Schitt's Creek, Beetlejuice, Double Negative, Best in Show, After Hours and more.
