Drake is $1 million poorer after he lost a major bet following the Super Bowl.

On Saturday night, February 7, the Canadian rapper announced he put down $1 million on the New England Patriots defeating the Seattle Seahawks during the Super Bowl. Drizzy had plenty of support from die-hard Pat fans, including Mark Wahlberg who commented "SMART MAN" under his Instagram post. If the Patriots won the game, he would've received an estimated payout of $2.95 million. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The Seahawks maintained their lead throughout the game and ended up defeating the Patriots 29 to 13.

His comment section was also filled with people who believe the "Drake curse" is still a thing. The narrative evolved over the years, after teams he's supported or cheered for tend to lose in the end. Some people in the comment section instantly congratulated the Seahawks for their victory, just based on the strength of Drake's bet.

Drake may have been focused on his bet for the outcome of the game, but fans had a different bet in mind for Drizzy. Some fans swore that the 39-year-old artist would be in Santa Clara to perform with Bad Bunny during the Super Bowl Halftime Show. In the weeks leading up to the big game, fans believed Bad Bunny would call on Drake to perform their collaboration "Mia" together. The rumor surrounding his anticipated appearance was crushed after The Sun reported that he declined to join Bad Bunny. However, according to The Breakfast Club's Loren LoRosa, Drake wasn't even asked to perform.

"A source just confirmed to me that NO .. Drake was never even asked to perform during Bad Bunny’s set," she reported.
