Priyanka Chopra Jonas is sharing whether she thinks her late father would approve of her husband Nick Jonas.
The Bluff star, 43, joined Josh Scherer on the March 3 episode of Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals segment where she explained why she believes Nick, 33, is exactly the kind of guy her father, Ashok Chopra, would have chosen for her. Ashok passed away in 2013 after a battle with cancer, so he never got to see the love story unfold between his daughter and the Jonas Brothers musician, whom she married in 2018, per E! News.
"Nick is the kind of person my dad would have picked for me if he had a choice," she said. "My dad's first love was music. He loved music. He loved singing it. He loved listening to it. He loved admiring the artistry behind it."
Priyanka said that the Sunday Best singer's disposition works well with hers, so her father would have thought they gave each other balance, saying, "More than anything, Nick is a really wise soul, a wise person and I think that [her dad] would have wanted someone like that for me, because that ain't me."
The Quantico alum also shared that she wishes her father could have been around to meet the family she has created for herself. Nick and Priyanka welcomed their daughter Malti, now 4, via surrogate in January 2022.
"That would have been a wish of mine, that my dad would have met my husband and my daughter," she said.
Her mother's first impression of the singer, however, went much differently. Last year, Priyanka revealed that her mom, Madhu Chopra, was "so mad" the first time she brought Nick home as they were "sharing an apartment" at the time and Priyanka "forgot to tell" her she was "bringing a boy back" to hang out.
