Ed Sheeran is sharing a rare update on his wife Cherry Seaborn, three years after
During a recent appearance on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, the "Azizam" singer reflected on the best and worst days of his life and both involve his wife, with whom he shares daughters Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3, per People. After sharing that his and Seaborn's 2019 wedding was a high point of his life, he admitted that the worst day came in February 2022 when she "rung me up and said she had cancer."
Seaborn, who was pregnant with the couple's second child at the time, was diagnosed with a tumor that doctors said couldn't be operated on until after she gave birth. While Sheeran admitted the situation "was f---ing scary," Seaborn has come out on the other side and is doing well
"She's fine, she had the operation," he said. "She was pregnant at the time. That's why it was difficult. She had the operation to remove the tumor after the birth of our second child. And thankfully — touch wood — totally fine."
Though a notoriously private couple, Sheeran and Seaborn first revealed her health struggles in his 2023 Disney+ documentary Ed Sheeran: The Sum of it All. In the rare on-screen appearance, she explained why she decided to let viewers into her life.
"I got diagnosed with cancer at the start of the year which was a massive s--ter," she said. "It made me massively reflect on our mortality. I would never agree to do anything like this but it made me think, 'Oh if I died, what's people's perception of me? What do you leave behind?'"
Elsewhere in Sheeran's podcast appearance, he also opened up about his controversial cameo on Game of Thrones and shared why he thinks his memorable moment on screen "ruffled some feathers."
