Teyana Taylor's experience at the Oscars ended on a sour note after she got into an argument outside of the awards show.
On Sunday night, March 16, the One Battle After Another actress attended the 98th annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Although she didn't win Best Supporting Actress, Teyana Taylor and all her castmates were on stage to accept the award for Best Picture. It was all good until the live broadcast ended. According to TMZ, a security guard allegedly shoved Taylor as she was heading back toward the stage to take a group photo with her castmates.
"You're a man putting your hands on a female," she said. "You're very rude."
Taylor was walking with Pam Abdi, co-head of Warner Bros., when a security guard blocked them from returning to the stage. He reportedly used his body to stop them and put his hands on her to physically keep Taylor from getting past him. He even allegedly asked Taylor for an apology while he was trying to control the crowd.
Although the security guard's actions weren't caught on camera, Taylor's confrontation with the security guard was recorded and posted to social media. In the clip, you can hear Taylor accuse the guard of shoving her. The altercation didn't go any further than that.
Of course, fans weren't happy to see Teyana Taylor get treated that way at the Oscars. Some people applauded her for protecting her boundaries and others shamed the guard for touching the actress without consent. As of this report, Taylor has not publicly commented on the incident.
