Usher and Justin Bieber reportedly got into a verbal confrontation amid rumors about tension between the former collaborators.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, March 19, the two superstars were among the A-listers who were in attendance at JAY-Z and Beyoncé Oscars after-party. Sources close to Bieber alleged Usher approached the SWAG singer with "energy and anger." Usher and Bieber's conversation got heated quickly, but they didn't get physical despite what some people said about the situation. Usher's team has yet to respond to inquiries into what went down, but people within JB's circle say the altercation is a culmination of the singer's disassociation from his former mentor.
Justin Bieber has reportedly been cutting ties with people from his past over the past few months. Last January, fans pointed out that both artists unfollowed each other on Instagram. Another source connected to the Biebs also said that he's "always been rude to Usher." The tension between the two artists has increased over the past four years. TMZ notes that the last time they were spotted out together in public was at Coeur d'Alene Lake in Idaho.
The altercation didn't last long, and it didn't escalate, but it was "intense." It's not clear what the argument was about, and no one heard anything specific. However, plenty of high-profile witnesses were there, including Bieber's wife, Hailey, Teyana Taylor, Michael B. Jordan, Ryan Coogler, Timothee Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, and more.
