Miley Cyrus is sharing a dedication to her past self in her new song from the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.
On Friday (March 27), Cyrus released her latest track "Younger You," a reflective song bridging past and present as her younger self checks in with the Cyrus of today, wondering how much she has changed over years and begging her "don't forget about me."
She also shared a music video for the song, which was originally featured in her new anniversary special celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, the role that launched her into stardom when she was a young teenager. The visuals feature throwback clips from Cyrus in Hannah Montana: The Movie, merging glimpses of her past self with those of her now, driving around Hollywood, performing for crowds and filming the anniversary celebration.
"Younger me has loved celebrating 20 years of Hannah Montana with you," she said of the song in a post on Instagram. "This song is yours as a thank you for the life we've grown through together. I love you always."
It's a sentiment she echoed at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards when receiving the iHeartRadio Innovator Award on Thursday (March 26), explaining that honoring the 20th anniversary this week "has been a dream come true."
"Younger me is so honored to share this moment with you and I'm proud to stand here today and tell you how much you mean to me," she said. "This really is the life!"
She added of her beloved character, "I fell in love with the idea that you can create a persona that gives you the confidence and the courage to perform authentically, and that sometimes the fake you can actually reveal the real you."
