Elizabeth Taylor's estate is reacting after Taylor Swift shared a new video paying tribute to the late Hollywood icon.
Swift honored the legendary Cleopatra actress this week in the music video for her latest single "Elizabeth Taylor," from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl. The visuals featured candid moments of Taylor's life as well as scenes from some of her most popular roles.
In a statement shared to TMZ, a rep for Taylor's estate called the video "remarkable" in "its pure devotion to Elizabeth's legacy," describing it "a celebration of Elizabeth from beginning to end, and an homage in the truest sense."
"We are delighted by this celebration and the care with which Taylor Swift has spotlighted what so many have long understood: Elizabeth Taylor was a true icon, a trailblazer in every sense of the word," the statement read. "She lived unapologetically and on her own terms, embracing her public life with grace and courage while fiercely protecting the private world she cherished with family and friends. That balance, that duality, was one of her most remarkable qualities."
The rep drew a direct comparison to the Showgirl herself, adding, "If there is anyone navigating the extraordinary pressures of global fame with comparable authenticity and strength, it is Taylor Swift."
The statement continued, "The estate is honored that she chose to pay tribute in this way, and have no doubt that Elizabeth would have loved every frame of it."
The visuals, which Swift teased on her Instagram Stories this week, is not currently available on YouTube; however, if it follows the same path as the music videos she shared for her previous two singles "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite," it could potentially arrive on the platform in a few days.
