Noah Kahan is opening up about nearly giving up his music dream.

In a trailer for the "Porch Light" singer's upcoming Netflix documentary Out of Body, released Tuesday (March 31), Kahan got real about feeling like he has reached a "peak" of his career and detailed the struggles of finding his own voice before the success of 2022's Stick Season, per People.

"I think I was close to giving up music. I didn't know what my own voice was and suddenly I was thrust back into Vermont," he said. "It kind of changed everything. It finally felt like there was some kind of story in the music. And then it became this huge thing."

Kahan also expressed fear of not being able to make music without being in pain or being back in his hometown.

"I know that I'm most happy when I'm home and when I'm making music," he said. "And that's what I'm kind of most scared of. That I have to be at my mom's house, that I have to be in Vermont, that I have to be struggling and in pain to make music."

He added, "I think the thing that I need to do is jump on the diving board. This is it."

In addition to the new documentary, Kahan is also gearing up to hit the road this summer on his The Great Divide stadium tour in support of his new album of the same name, which drops April 24.

Out of Body premieres April 13 on Netflix.
