Like many growing up in the '90s, Hilary Duff found fashion inspiration in the form of ultimate girl group and style icons the Spice Girls.
On the April 1 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, the "Mature" singer explained to hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang how the "different vibes" within the group — Baby, Ginger, Scary, Sporty and Posh — taught her a valuable lesson in how she can express herself.
"The Spice Girls for me was my first concert, and the first time I saw women in all their different vibes, their expressions: Sporty, Posh, this, that. I was, like, 'Oh my God, and you can be all of them, it just depends on the day, how you wake up feeling, you could feel like one of the Spice Girls."
The Lizzie McGuire actress added, "Hair, makeup, all the inspiration you needed was within the Spice Girls. And then [1997 film] Spice World happened!"
As for which member of the Spice Girls she most wanted to be, Duff had an immediate first choice: "Of course, I wanted to be Baby Spice."
On Las Culturistas, Rogers and Yang "get into the hottest pop-culture moments of the day" and even hang out with special guests like Nicole Kidman, Brittany Snow, Jennifer Lawrence, Reese Witherspoon, and Lady Gaga, to name a few. Check out more episodes of the Las Culturistas podcast at iHeart.com.
