Ariana Grande's latest post is sending fans into a frenzy over potential new music.
On Wednesday (April 8), the "We Can't Be Friends" singer stirred up rumors of new music on the way after sharing several behind-the-scenes photos to Instagram of herself in the studio leaning into microphones, sitting at production tables and hard at work in front of multiple computer screens.
"ITS HAPPENING" and "AG8 IS COMING" were common sentiments from many fans in the comments while other artists and celebrities like Lizzo and Naomi Scott shared their hopes for new music. The actress's mother Joan Grande even left her own supportive comments, leaving a string of fire emojis and writing, "Such beautiful pics sweetheart!!"
Grande's time in the studio comes months after she teased a mystery project coming "down the line" that she was "very excited about" while speaking with Variety in January.
"I can't say much yet, but it's something that inspires me deeply," she said, not revealing whether the project was music-related or part of her growing acting career, only teasing that it "contains multitudes."
The Wicked star also denied speculation that she had plans to release new music before her Eternal Sunshine Tour kicks off this summer, jokingly calling out her fans for thinking she had enough time to record another album while planning for her tour and filming various projects.
"I love them so much, but sometimes I want to ask, 'Do you think there's another version of me out there who had time to write a new album?' Not yet," she said.
Grande is hitting the road this June for the Eternal Sunshine Tour, her first tour in six years that she previously said could be her "last hurrah" for a "long time" and will be different than her tours "back in the day."
