Queen Latifah, Wu-Tang Clan, MC Lyte, Oasis, Phil Collins, and other legends will finally be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced the list of musicians who will be inducted later this year during the latest episode of “American Idol" that aired Monday night, April 13. First-time nominees Wu-Tang Clan earned their spot in the performers category, followed by iconic artists Phil Collins, Oasis, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade and the late Luther Vandross. Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, along with late artists Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti and Gram Parsons will receive the Early Influence Award.
The Musical Excellence Award will be presented to Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and the co-founder of Def Jam Recordings Rick Rubin. Meanwhile, the late Ed Sullivan will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The class of 2026 was full of revered acts, including Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, INXS, Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Buckley, P!nk, New Edition and Shakira. The aforementioned nominees didn't make the cut this year, but can be nominated again in the future. Artists are eligible to be nominated 25 years after their first recording is released.
All of these legends will be inducted during Rock Hall's annual ceremony. The induction is happening on November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. ABC and Disney+ will air the induction on television in December.
