As Charli XCX continues making moves in front of the camera in addition to in the studio, does she have plans to change her stage name when it comes to her acting career?

The "Apple" musician, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, addressed that exact question in a new cover story for British Vogue published Thursday (April 16), revealing that she has been having conversations about just that topic.

"I spoke to a couple of people about whether I should change that," she said, adding she hasn't yet decided one way or another. "I'm on the fence about it. Charli Aitchison is not super-popping though."

However, there is one moniker she knows she won't use: her birth name.

"Oh, I'm never gonna be Charlotte," she said. "Come on."

Charli has a few acting credits to her name this year. Her mockumentary The Moment, inspired by her real life touring, released in January, and she is set to star in I Want Your Sex as well as a remake of the 1978 horror film Faces of Death, per People.

"It can be so scary to leave something behind that you're known for, then risk it all trying to do something else," she said. "I feel so lucky to be on set with so many actors and directors I admire. I have a hunger to learn and understand how other people do it. I don't think I've ever felt like, 'Wow, I killed that.' I feel ready to do it 1,000 times if necessary."

Elsewhere in the interview, Charli shared details about her upcoming new album that she said may bother some fans because of its genre switch from her 2024 record Brat.
