Madonna is finding freedom on the dance floor in the first glimpse of her new album.
The Queen of Pop debuted her new song "I Feel So Free" on iHeartRadio's Pride Radio on Friday (April 17), giving fans a new look at her upcoming album Confessions II, a long-awaited sequel project to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor releasing this summer.
After a day of the song hitting the airwaves on radio, Madonna also made a surprise return to Coachella when she joined headliner Sabrina Carpenter on stage for an unforgettable collaboration on Madonna's hits "Vogue" and "Like a Prayer" as well as a new unreleased track seemingly from Confessions II, per Pitchfork.
She reflected on the "full circle moment" of returning to the Indio, California, festival while speaking with the crowd. The hitmaker last performed at Coachella in 2015 when she appeared on stage with Drake, People reports.
"So, 20 years ago today, I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions on a Dance Floor' part one in America," she said. "It was such a thrill, and it's a thrill to be back. It's a full circle moment, you know? [It's] very meaningful for me."
Madonna also joked about one of the most "thrilling" parts of performing with Carpenter, and it's not what you'd expect.
"The thrilling thing I need to point out to everybody right now is this is probably the first time I've ever performed with someone who's shorter than me," she quipped.
Confessions II drops July 3. You can listen to "I Feel So Free" on iHeartRadio.
