Prince Louis is celebrating his 8th birthday!
On Thursday (April 23), the youngest of Prince William and Kate Middleton honored their youngest child's birthday with a sweet shoutout on social media, sharing a new portrait of the young royal and a video with never-before-seen footage from a family trip to the beach.
As is tradition on their kids' birthdays, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a photo taken by photographer Matt Porteous showcasing Louis' toothy smile as he posed in a blue quarter-zip sweater in front of the water.
An additional video allowed Louis to show off more of his headline-making personality, digging in the sand with a shovel, jumping into the sea in a wetsuit, hitting a cricket ball and running along the beach. The snapshots of the royal's life were captured during a family trip to the seaside region of Cornwall earlier this month, per People.
"Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Prince Louis. 8 is great!" the royals captioned the post on Instagram.
In addition to Louis, the Prince and Princess of Wales are parents to son Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10.
Despite the family's royal status, they still face many of the same issues non-royal families experience all over the world. In November 2025, William detailed the relatable parenting struggle he and Middleton have been navigating while raising their three kids that has become a "bit of a tense issue" with their oldest son.
