Ariana Grande officially has new music on the way.

After months of speculation, the Wicked star confirmed on Tuesday (April 28) that her eighth studio album is coming out this summer via Republic Records. The new project, titled Petal, serves as a follow-up to her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine and will drop July 31 in the midst of her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, which kicks off in June.

Grande shared the news in a post on Instagram while also giving fans a look at the album cover, a simple black-and-white shot of the "We Can't Be Friends" singer grinning with her eyes closed, hair blowing across her face.

According to Variety, Grande executive produced and co-wrote Petal with Swedish-Persian producer Ilya and described the album in an announcement as, "Something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging."

Grande first teased a mystery project that "contains multitudes" in January, playing coy about whether it was music-related or involved her growing acting career.

"There is something else I'm very excited about down the line," she said at the time. "I can't say much yet, but it's something that inspires me deeply."

In April, she stoked the flames of new music speculation even further by sharing behind-the-scenes photos of herself in the studio, leaning into microphones and working on computers at production tables.
