Kate Cassidy is getting candid about dating again nearly two years after the death of her boyfriend Liam Payne.
In a new video shared to her TikTok, the 27-year-old influencer admitted she feels "ready to start dating again" a year and a half after the One Direction alum's tragic passing. The couple were together for two years until his death in October 2024, per People.
"I think that love after loss is a big chapter within your grief journey and I don't know how that's gonna feel," she said. "But what I do know is that I loved being in love. I want to have kids one day. I want to have a family, and I know Liam would want that for me, and if the roles were reversed I would want him to be happy and fall in love again."
Whenever Cassidy does find love again, it won't change what she shared with the "Strip that Down" singer as she will "always love" Payne.
"That will never change, no matter who I meet and who comes into my life," she said. "I am probably going to — not even probably, I'm going to think about Liam on my wedding day. I'm going to think about him every day for the rest of my life, and that goes without saying."
Cassidy received many messages of support in the comments of the video, including a note from someone whose husband passed away around the same time as Payne and is "in the same boat" as Cassidy.
"I hope you will find someone as loving and caring as Liam was because you really deserve that," one commenter wrote, while others explained, "you are allowed to love again and be happy," and "dont worry liam is gonna send you the best person you will ever meet and cheer you on."
Payne passed away at 31 on October 16, 2024, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During an April 2025 interview with Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast, Cassidy opened up about the "beautiful last moment" she spent with her boyfriend before his death that "brings me this mixture of pain and peace."
