The Prince and Princess of Wales' royal household just got a whole lot fluffier.

On Friday (May 1), Prince William and Kate Middleton introduced the newest member of their family to the world, a brown English cocker spaniel named Otto. Not only did their beloved family pet get his own spotlight on social media, but it is also the pup's first birthday. The royals celebrated the occasion by sharing a majestic photo of Otto in a field, fur blowing in the wind, taken by the Princess of Wales, per People.

"Welcome to the family, Otto! 1 today," they captioned the snap.

While this may be the official introduction of Otto, he seemingly made his royal debut earlier this week in an Instagram post marking William and Kate's 15th wedding anniversary. The snap captured a sweet family moment of the couple lying on the grass with Otto, their black cocker spaniel Orla, reportedly Otto's mother, and their three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis 8.

Otto isn't the only member of the royal family to have celebrated a birthday recently. The Prince and Princess of Wales marked their youngest child's 8th birthday late last month by sharing a new video of Louis running around during a family trip to the beach.
