Imagine you're getting married and doing a first look with your soon-to-be spouse to share a special moment before saying "I do." Anxiously waiting to turn around and see the person you hope to spend the rest of your life with, all dressed up and looking back at you with as much love as you shine on them. You finally feel a tap on your shoulder — this is the moment! You take a deep breath, turn around to see your bride-to-be... only to be shocked when you're met with a grinning Benson Boone in a white dress and wedding veil.
For one newlywed couple, that's exactly what happened right before their big day.
With the help of bride Sydni Burrup and photographer Ashlyn Harrop, the "Mystical Magical" musician, 23, surprised groom Eric Magelsen, his childhood best friend, with the most unforgettable prank, per People. When Magelsen turned around to see his bride in their first look photo shoot at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City on March 29, he was instead met with his best man Boone in a white dress courtesy of Burrup's mother, veil, silver jewelry and even a colorful bouquet.
"He definitely showed off his diva side and was hilarious!" Harrop said.
According to a video shared by Hannah Kate Films, Magelsen was "completely shocked" for a moment when he saw Boone before he immediately burst into laughter, giving him a high-five and a hug for pulling off the surprise, admitting it was "definitely one of the best pranks he has ever pulled on me."
"Benson and I have been best friends since we were babies and growing up we were constantly pulling pranks on each other so I probably should have seen this coming but I had absolutely no idea," Magelsen told People.
Magelsen even joked the dress "fit him great" and said that his pal was "fully committed to the bit," as evidenced by the "Beautiful Things" singer's hilarious but loving declaration to the groom.
"You look so handsome!" Boone told his longtime friend. "Eric, this is gonna be the biggest day of our lives, and I just want to let you know there's no one else I'd rather be with."
Magelsen quipped back that he was "the luckiest man on earth!"
Magelsen and Burrup eventually had their real first look and the couple tied the knot last month.
