Rob Schneider confirmed that he and his fellow cast mates are returning for the third installment of the buddy comedy film series during an appearance on the Johnjay Van Es Podcast, which airs in full on Friday (May 15). Schneider starred in the original 2010 movie as well as its 2013 sequel alongside Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock and Kevin James.
"We're doing another Grown Ups this summer," he said, confirming that he's already seen a script for the project. "It's fun. I'm excited about it. Adam's bringing the band back together, and we're all getting old, so."
After Van Es noted that the actors, many of whom were in the same group of Saturday Night Live comedians in the '90s, were a "great class" of stars on the long-running sketch comedy show.
"They were pretty damn good," he said. "I think we hold up as a good class."
Grown Ups 3 is officially in development with Netflix, the streaming giant confirmed during their Upfront presentation on Wednesday (May 13), with a script written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, per Deadline.
In his chat with Van Es, Schneider also hinted about a potential new Deuce Bigalow movie, confirming that he would do a third film it was "funny" and they "paid [him] enough" and admitted that he's "getting in shape for it." However, he also doesn't plan to have too many projects going at once in order to spend time with his family.
"I'm gonna start making a few more movies, not too many, to be honest with you," he said. "I really want to spend as much time as I can with my kids."
