Justin Long is "flattered" to be in Ariana Grande's newest music video.
At the premiere of his new film In Memoriam at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday (June 7), Long spoke to People about his latest role in the music video for Grande's new single "hate that i made you love me," admitting that he had "such a blast" and even sharing his wife Kate Bosworth's reaction to him landing a role in the visuals.
"She loves it, she was so thrilled for me," he said. "It was such an expected call to get. Ariana had this whole idea of the shoot, I'm so flattered that she wanted me to be involved."
In the video, Long stars as a man who cannot escape the ghost of Grande haunting him, surviving multiple near-death experiences before ultimately being buried alive by the singer. In his conversation with People, the Barbarian actor praised Grande as "a great leader and so positive" and a pleasure to work with as they executed her vision in the video directed by Christian Breslauer.
"She was brilliant, she was so sweet, really such a great person to be involved with," he said. "I just loved working with her. It was a blast."
Long added, "She was just such a wonderful person to work with."
"Hate that i made you love me" serves as the first release from Grande's forthcoming album petal, out July 31, which she previously described as being "a little feral."
"It's kind of about breaking up with all different kinds of negative attachments, whether it's my own monsters in my own head, external voices, things that no longer serve me," she said. "I could be talking about one thing, sharing something, and people could use it however they want and apply it to their own lives."
