Travis Barker is crediting his wife Kourtney Kardashian Barker for helping him overcome his deepest fears.

While speaking to E! News at the premiere of his new documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Saturday (June 13), the blink-182 drummer shared how the Kardashians star has been a grounding presence in his life, specifically noting how she helped him through his fear of flying years after he survived a deadly plane crash.

"Falling in love again, my wife gave me so much hope to where I ended up flying again and believed that I could do it and now my kids fly," he said. "It's just insane."

The rocker also explained that he draws a lot of his strength through his family, including his children. He is a dad to son Landon, 22, daughter Alabama, 20, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 27, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler, as well as son Rocky Thirteen, whom he welcomed with Kardashian in November 2023.

"The power of love is amazing," he said. "My kids were my strength from the time they existed."

Barker was on a flight with his friend Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, assistant Chris Baker and bodyguard Charles Still in 2008 when the tires of the private plane blew during takeoff, causing the plane to crash. Baker, Still and both pilots were killed while DJ AM and Barker escaped with third-degree burns over their bodies. DJ AM died from a drug overdose nearly one year later.

Barker has opened up about his long journey to being comfortable flying again. In 2021, he took his first flight since the deadly crash, taking a trip with then-girlfriend Kardashian and her family to Cabo, Mexico. He shared a photo of the big moment alongside a sweet message to the Poosh founder, telling her, "With you anything is possible."
