Sam Smith is sharing a snapshot of their life with fans on their upcoming album Hazel Eyes.

On Wednesday (June 24), the English singer-songwriter announced their forthcoming fifth studio album Hazel Eyes is dropping this August, a follow-up to 2023's Gloria. According to a press release, the record, a 12-track project made via Capitol Records with collaborators Feist, Shahzad Ismaily and Rob Moose, was co-produced by Smith, Simon Aldred and David Odlum, per Variety.

"This album is an incredibly special record to me," they said. "I have been writing it for over three years with a very small group of beautiful, dear friends of mine. This album is very personal, and I feel I have deepened myself as an artist through the making of it, through being a producer on the record, to walking alongside this record from the start to the finish and pushing myself at every single turn."

Smith continued, "This record and this music is incredibly romantic. I've learned so many life lessons through making this album, and I've documented it all through the music."

In addition to the album announcement, Smith also shared the new single "My Guy," which they said is a song "that I feel I have been waiting a lifetime to write and sing," noting that they "tried to capture the glow of the warmth of love."

When announcing the album on Instagram, the "Stay With Me" singer explained that the project is "an honest account of my life the last few years" and hopes it can be "a sweet escape for anyone who needs it."

"I believe, after this record more than ever, that love is a cure and music is a sanctuary and honesty is my north star," they said. "I can't wait to share it with you all. Thanks for sticking round all these years to listen."

Hazel Eyes drops August 21.
