Bonnaroo is taking a year off.

Organizers announced that the popular Tennessee music festival will not take place in 2027, giving the grounds known as The Farm a chance to recover after several years of severe weather.

In a statement shared on the festival’s website and social media, organizers said the Manchester, Tenn., site needs time “to recuperate from back-to-back year of storms,” including heavy rain that impacted this year’s festival.

The decision follows several difficult years for Bonnaroo. The 2025 festival was canceled after just one day because of severe flooding, while the 2021 event was ultimately called off after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then impacted by Hurricane Ida. It returned in 2026 but still faced weather-related challenges, including a forced evacuation and canceled performances on the festival’s final day.

Organizers had invested heavily in improving the grounds ahead of the 2026 event, aiming to make the property more resilient to extreme weather.

The 2027 cancellation marks the first time Bonnaroo has voluntarily taken a year off since launching in 2002. While organizers did not announce plans for a 2028 return, they said the break will “only make Bonnaroo better.”
