Carly Rae Jepsen is sharing the inspiration behind her child's name.
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the "Call Me Maybe" singer, 40, shared new details about her firstborn, whom she welcomed earlier this year with husband Cole M.G.N., real name Cole Marsden Greif-Neill. Jepsen, who has kept information about their baby private, revealed that they welcomed a son and that his name is Ilya.
She also teased that her son's name was inspired by Connor Storrie's character in Heated Rivalry. The Canadian musician, who is preparing to release her double album Day and Night later this month, was previously approached about writing a song for the show's first season but was ultimately not within the budget, per People.
"It was an incredible show," she said. "Ilya is the name of my son. Maybe, not maybe because of that show."
Jepsen first revealed she and Cole were expecting their first child together in November 2025, one month after their intimate New York City wedding, sharing sweet photos of the expectant couple cradling her growing baby bump. She revealed in March 2026 that she had given birth to their child by posting a mirror selfie of holding her newborn and reflecting at the recent changes in her life.
"Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life," she captioned the snap. "Welcome to the world little one."
