The holidays have officially arrived at Starbucks. The coffee chain’s 2026 holiday cups hit stores today (November 5), and this year’s lineup includes something special for your four-legged friends: the company’s first-ever holiday pup cup.
The 3.5-ounce pup cup features a cartoon dog inspired by a real-life beagle named Junie, according to Starbucks.
For humans, there are four new hot cup designs and one cold cup. The hot cups feature festive holiday trees and bows, while the cold cup is decorated with evergreen boughs and red bows. The whole collection pairs classic Starbucks green, red, and creamy white with retro shades like pale mint green, antique gold, and deep cranberry.
The look was inspired by the feel of a classic holiday movie. The Starbucks Creative Studio team, led by designer London D., started with mood boards full of vintage motifs and wallpaper.
“We were thinking about the classic holiday decor that feels accessible with moments of handmade details,” she said.
A green, vintage-style ribbon from those mood boards became a key part of the campaign. It shows up on coffee packaging, on the back of the to-go cups, and in the garland decorating coffeehouses. “It was very much inspired by real physical ribbons,” London explained.
The cups have come a long way. When Starbucks introduced its first holiday cups in 1997, a handful of employees designed them about two months before they arrived in 1,400 coffeehouses. Today, the cups take nearly two years of work and show up in more than 40,000 locations worldwide.
The cups arrive alongside the Starbucks holiday menu, which includes the new Tiramisu Velvet Latte, Tiramisu Velvet Cold Brew, and Apple Pomegranate Refreshers. Fan favorites like the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, and Sugar Cookie Latte are back, too.
Mark your calendars for Red Cup Day on November 17. Customers who buy any handcrafted holiday drink that day will get a collectible reusable red cup at participating stores, while supplies last.
